- Each player receives seven cards. The rest of the deck forms the draw pile; the top card is turned face-up to start the discard pile.
- On each turn, players play a card matching either the color or the number of the top card on the discard pile.
- Action cards change the flow of the game. For example, the "+2" card forces the next player to draw two cards, while "Skip" causes a player to lose their turn.
- When a player has only one card left, they must call "Uno!" If they forget and an opponent notices, they must draw two penalty cards.

- Use psychology: Uno also involves bluffing. By letting others believe you still have many Action cards, you can encourage your opponents to play more cautiously, which can work in your favor.
History of the Game
The origins of Uno date back to 1971. Merle Robbins, a barber from Reading, Ohio, had the idea of turning the classic card game Mau-Mau into a commercially viable product. Together with his family, he developed the first Uno card sets, which he initially sold in small quantities. The game was a rapid success and, shortly after, a group of entrepreneurs bought the rights.
In 1992, Mattel took over the brand and turned Uno into a worldwide phenomenon. Today, the game is available in more than 80 countries and comes in many variants, such as Flip, Extreme, and digital versions that let you play online.
